DOH logs 11 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol
The Department of Health has logged 11 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol, pushing the region’s total caseload to 58,912.
Active cases as of February 28 are now at 4,153 or 7.05% ot the total number of cases.
The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:
CAM NORTE: 1 (9.09%)
1 – Basud
CAM SUR: 4 (36.36%)
3 – Naga City
1 – Ragay
CATANDUANES: 1 (9.09%)
1 – Virac
SORSOGON: 5 (45.45%)
2 – Sorsogon City
1 – Gubat
1 – Irosin
1 – Sta Magdalena
The DOH said details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.
It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).
Meanwhile, the Health department recorded 307 new recoveries to push the total to 52,614.
Five more fatalities were logged, to bring the death toll to 2,145.
“The report does not reflect the actual date of deaths. Report of deaths are based on validated reports with death certificates,” said the DOH.
The DOH also reminded that the fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action.
“Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus.”
