The Provincial Government of Palawan will receive cash assistance from the Provincial Government of Apayao intended for the victims of Odette in the province.

Apayao is set to donate P100,000 to Palawan, one of the provinces heavily hit by Typhoon Odette in December.

The initiative of Apayao is based on the Republic Act 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction Management Act of 2010.

“Upon the recommendation of the LDRRMO and approval of the Sanggunian concerned, the LDRRMC may transfer the said fund to support disaster risk reduction work of other LDRRMCs which are declared under state of calamity,” the resolution read.

To recall, a state of calamity was ordered in Palawan on December 22 because of the effects of Typhoon Odeete.
