VP Leni cites ‘bad governance’ as reason why poverty remains a problem in CamSur
Vice President Leni Robredo cited “bad governance” as one of reasons why Camarines Sur is still facing poverty woes.
During the Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews aired Saturday night, Robredo was asked what she has done to solve the problem and what else she can do about it.
“Yung aming probinsya isa sa pinakamahirap na probinsya at ang dahilan talaga nito, hindi lang ‘yung mga calamities na laging pumapalo sa amin, pero bad governance,” said the Vice President.
She also revealed that at one point, she considered running for a local executive post in Camarines Sur to do something about the province’s poverty woes.
“Kasi kapag tumakbo ako sa isang local executive position, marami akong magagawa, gaya nung nagawa nung asawa ko nung mayor siya ng Naga,” she said.
To recall, former CamSur Rep. Rolando Andaya claimed that Robredo would run as CamSur governor for 2022.
Robredo also transferred her residence from Naga City, an independent component city, to Magarao in CamSur.
VP Leni, after she failed to unite the opposition, instead decided to run for president.
