Villafuerte orders health break for students, teachers

Camarines Sur Governor Migz Villafuerte has ordered the implementation of a health and wellness break for teachers and students in the province.

The break, which started January 18 and will last until 21, was prompted by the rising coronavirus disease cases in the province.

CamSur was one of the provinces that was elevated to Alert Level 3 by the national government.

“The Province of Camarines Sur is experiencing a new surge of COVID-19 cases and has been placed under Alert Level 3 from January 14 to 31, 2022,” Villafuerte said.

“To ease the burden caused by the surge to the physical and mental well-being of school personnel and learners, classes and teaching-related activities in the public elementary and secondary levels are hereby suspended from January 18 to 21, 2022,” he added.

However, based on risk assessment and evaluation of the health status of their constituents, school heads may declare an extension of suspension of classes and teaching-related activities subject to the approval of DepEd Camsur’s Schools Division Superintendent.
