DOH Bicol sends medical teams to provide aid to Odette victims


The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) has sent medical support teams to aid the victims of Typhoon Odette.

The department through Regional Director Dr. Ernie V. Vera sent off two medical support teams from Bicol Medical Center (BMC) to provide free hospital and medical care to Filipinos in need.

“Services that the team will render are free consultations, first-aid, medical and surgical response, psychosocial debriefing, and mental health and psychosocial support (MPHSS),” the DOH said.

“Commodities including medicine, hygiene kits, jerry cans, aqua tabs will also be distributed to the victims of the typhoon,” it added.

A truck from Bicol Region General Hospital and Geriatric Medical Center will be used to transport the commodities, said the department.

Meanwhile, the teams will hold a courtesy call with the DOH Center for Health Development Eastern Visayas before deployment to assigned areas in need of medical assistance.
