Runs in the blood! VG Lagman shares photo of his great-grandfather

Albay Vice Governor Edcel Grex Lagman has introduced his great-grandfather, who served as Catanduanes’ first ever governor.

“My dear fellow Albayanos, please allow me to introduce to you my great-grandfather on my mother’s side, Felipe Almojuela,” said Lagman, sharing the photo of his lolo.

“He was the first governor of Catanduanes, then a sub-province of Albay in the 1920s,” he added.

Lagman said that Jorge Vera Almojuela (his grandmother’s older brother) followed in his father’s footsteps and became governor of Catanduanes in 1961 to 1967 when it was already a full-fledged province.

“I had to look for old family pictures such as this one because Mr. Lito Estevez Tuanqui has asked me to provide him pictures of my ancestors who were also in public service for the coffee table book he wants to publish,” said Lagman.
