Occidental Mindoro Governor Ed Gadiano has led the inauguration of the preserved remains of Kalibasib – the last captive-bred Tamaraw – at the Capitol.

The inauguration was held during the celebration of the Arawatan Festival 2021 last November 9.

Kali died in October last year at the age of 21.

He was the last tamaraw in captivity under the care of Mindoro Biodiversity Conservation, Research and Educational Center otherwise known as the Tamaraw Gene Pool Farm in Brgy. Manoot in Rizal.
