Mayor Fabic warns public vs poisonous jellyfish

Odiongan Mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabic has warned about the existence of poisonous jellyfish off waters of the town.

“Babala: mag-ingat sa poisonous jellyfish kung lalangoy kayo sa dagat,” she said.

“Mayroong naging pasyente dahil na sting ng jellyfish sa Libertad, na sa palagay ko ay man-of-war jellyfish o box jellyfish – na parehong pwedeng maging toxic ang sting kung naparami,” the mayor added.

She also encouraged the swimmers to wear additional protection such as rash guard and protective clothing to prevent jellyfish sting

“Ang litrato na ito ay hindi galing mismo sa pasyente para sa privacy nila. Kinuha ko lang sa internet, pero hawig ang bakas doon sa nakita sa pasyente,” she shared on her official Facebook page.

The mayor also shared first aid treatment just in case one experienced jellyfish sting.
