Albay Vice Governor Edcel Grex Lagman said he’s happy and honored to personally meet Engr. Al Christian Regorgo Gobres, the board topnotcher in the 2021 Chemical Engineering Licensure Exam.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Albay (SPA) adopted a congratulatory resolution to honor Al Christian’s “sacrifice and acknowledge his commitment in never giving up on his dreams.”

“This sentiment of the SPA also seeks to inspire his fellow Albayano youth for them to also overcome all financial obstacles as well as the unique challenges and difficulties this pandemic poses,” Lagman said.

“It is also truly our hope that Al Christian will build on his early success until ye eventually gives back to his beloved Legazpi the blessings that he’ll soon be reaping. Finally, it is our wish that he always live his life with honor and excellence,” he added.

Last Friday, Lagman invited Al Christian to attend today’s regular session.

“The honorable Board Members and I were just happy to finally meet and congratulate Albay’s latest hero in person. He was accompanied by his proud mom Agnes Regorgo Gobres, his honored dad Lorenzo Gobres and younger sister Justine Gobres,” said Lagman.

The Vice Governor noted that Albayanos have been topping the Bar Exams and a couple of noteworthy board exams.

“In 2020, 2019 Bar Topnotchers Atty. Mae Azores (1st placer, Legazpi City) and Atty. Myra Baranda (3rd placer, Bacacay) both of UST-Legazpi College of Law blazed the trail,” he said.

“In early 2021, Dr. Kristian Orap Orante of Ligao City followed suit by placing 4th in the Physician’s Licensure Exam. This time around, it was Engr. Al Christian’s turn to continue these stories of honor and excellence,” he added.
