The total COVID-19 caseload in Bicol has surged past the 40,000 mark after the Department of Health logged 338 new infections.

Total coronavirus cases in Bicol rose to 40,212 as of October 8, of which 13,612 are tagged as active cases.

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

The department also logged 159 new recoveries and four new deaths.
