DOH confirms 174 new COVID-19 infections in Bicol

The Department of Health Development-Bicol has reported 174 new COVID-19 cases in the region, bringing the total to 22,461.

Active cases as of August 12 are now at 3,059, representing 13.62%.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The details of newly reported cases are fowarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

The DOH also reported 84 new recoveries, pushing the total recoveries to 18,550.

Death toll, on the other hand, rose to 852 after two additional fatalities were reported.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH reminded.
