17 new COVID-19 infections logged in Bicol

The Department of Health in Bicol has recorded relatively low new COVID-19 cases as of August 1 at just 17 infections.

Total cases now stood at 21,312, of which 3,100 cases are active.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 1 (5.88%)

CAM NORTE: 1 (5.88%)
1 – Daet

CAM SUR: 15 (88.24%)
2 – Iriga City
2 – Minalabac
2 – Naga City
1 – Buhi
1 – Bula
1 – Calabanga
1 – Camaligan
1 – Canaman
1 – Del Gallego
1 – Libmanan
1 – Pamplona
1 – Pili

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, the DOH also logged 4 new recoveries. The number of recoveries are now at 17,408. Death toll remains at 804.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
