Total COVID-19 cases in Bicol now over 21,000

The total coronavirus disease cases in Bicol have surged past the 21,000 mark after the DOH logged 114 new infections.

Cumulative cases as of July 29 are now at 21,113. There are 2,967 active cases or 14.05% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

The DOH also logged 71 new recoveries, pushing the total to 17,347.

Death toll rose to 799 after three new fatalities were reported. Two of them were from Sorsogon and one from Albay.
