Nang dahil sa slogan: Bayan Muna condemns killing of 2 activists in Albay
Bayan Muna Rep. Ferdinand Gaite on Tuesday condemned the killing of two activists who were reportedly shot by police who caught them spray painting anti-Duterte slogans on Banao Bridge in Guinobatan, Albay.
“Everything warrants a death sentence under this murderous regime. Gaite said.
Human rights group Defend Bicol identified the two as Jemar Palero, 22, of Organisasyon ng mga Magsasaka sa Albay (OMA), and Marlon Naperi, 38, of human rights group Albay People’s Organization.
The two were reportedly killed on the dawn of Monday, the final State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Gaite expressed hope that the incident will not be dismissed as another case of ‘nanlaban’.
Nobody believes that ‘Nanlaban’ narrative anymore. Panis na panis na yan,” he said.
He said that Duterte who “who gave the order to ‘Kill, Kill, Kill’ his critics must be made accountable. And he will be, as the day of reckoning comes near.”
