Total COVID-19 cases in Bicol breach 20,000 mark

The total coronavirus disease cases in Bicol have surged past the 20,000 mark, latest data from the Department of Health showed.

The DOH logged 31 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol, pushing the region’s total to 20,028 as of July 18.

Meanwhile, 3,324 are active cases, representing 16.60% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 2 (6.45%)
2 – Libon

CAM SUR: 29 (93.55%)
7 – Naga City
5 – Lupi
4 – Bato
4 – San Jose
2 – Lagonoy
2 – Ocampo
1 – Libmanan
1 – Milaor
1 – Nabua
1 – Pasacao
1 – Pili

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, the DOH also reported 224 recoveries. Total number of recoveries are now 15,965.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 739 after 6 new deaths were confirmed.
