Albay Gov. Bichara touts Provincial Agri-Center
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara has touted the Provincial Agri-Center built under his leadership.
“In a 13-hectare land in Tula-Tula, Ligao City, the Provincial Agri-Center was built as a project of Gov. Al Francis C. Bichara to support the fundamental needs of Albayano farmers,” the governor’s office said..
“This demonstration farm is equipped with modern technology and quality facility on rice farming, fish hatchery, orchard growing, and agricultural training,” it added.
The agri-center also provides hybrid rice seeds to farmers, certified fingerlings to fish breeders and high-quality fruit-bearing plants to agri-entrepreneurs all over Albay and other provinces in the Bicol region.
“This 13-hectare land consists of three (3) major buildings: 1) a large warehouse for keeping and maintaining equipment and tools, 2) the Administration building and training rooms, 3) the lodging houses to accommodate trainees. Wide rice fields and tilapia fishponds are also its unique features,” the governor’s office said.
“This agri-center also hopes to entice and encourage young Albayanos to get involved with agriculture by showing them how the old ways of farming make use of advanced technology,” it added.
