211 new COVID-19 infections reported in Bicol

The total coronavirus disease cases in Bicol have risen to 16,786 after the Health department logged 211 new infections.

Active cases as of June 23 rose to 5,984, representing 35.65% of the total cases.

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, 53 patients have recovered from the disease, pushing the total recoveries to 10,282.

On the other hand, death toll climbed to 520 after five patients succumbed to the disease.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
