Total COVID-19 cases in Bicol rise to 16,356

The total coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region have reached 16,356 after the Health department logged 149 new infections.

Active cases as of June 21 are now at 5,554 representing 34.87% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It explained that releasing personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, 33 additional patients have recovered pushing the total number of recoveries to 10,141.

Death toll on the other hand rose to 512 after three more individuals succumbed to the dreaded disease.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
