COVID-19 cases in Bicol rise to 15,494 after logging 218 new infections

The Department of Health Bicol Center for Healthy Development has reported 218 new COVID-19 infections in the region, pushing the total cases to 15,494.

Active cases in the region are now at 5,213, representing 33.65% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, there are 101 additional recoveries. A total of 9,788 have recovered from the illness.

Meanwhile, three fatalities were reported, bringing the death toll to 493.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
