Total COVID-19 cases in Bicol exceed 15,000

The total COVID-19 cases in Bicol Region have surged past the 15,000 mark after 215 new infections were logged by the Health department.

Total cases as of June 13 are now at 15,034 while the active cases are now at 5,149.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said that details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Meanwhile, the DOH also reported 92 new recoveries, pushing the total number of recoveries to 9,407.

Death toll rose to 478 after five patients succumbed to the disease. Four out of the five deaths came from Sorsogon, while the other one came from Catanduanes.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
