Palawan to be placed under state of calamity amid spike of COVID-19 cases
Palawan is set to be placed under a state of calamity amid the spike of COVID-19 cases in the province.
“Sa pamamagitan ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Resolution No. 004 series of 2021 ay isasailalim ang buong lalawigan ng Palawan sa ‘State of Calamity’ dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng aktibong kaso ng COVID-19,” the provincial government said,
The resolution of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan is now awaiting the signature of Acting Governor Dennis Socrates for it to become fully effective.
“Nakasaad dito na maari nang magamit ang iba pang pondo ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan gaya Trust Fund at Quick Response Fund (QRF) ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO),” said the Capitol.
PDRRMO Jerry Alili said that the Provincial IATF will allocate funds to purchase, foodpacks, medecins, antigen test kits, PPEs as well as to build additional facilities such as Molecular Laboratory,
“Ang resolusyong ito ay alinsunod sa Proclamation 1021 na pinirmahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na isailalim ang buong bansa sa State of Calamity mula Setyembre 13, 2020 hanggang Setyembre 12, 2021,” said the Capitol.
