255 new COVID-19 cases logged in Bicol

A total of 235 new COVID-19 cases were logged in Bicol as of May 31, pushing the region’s total infections to 12,336.

Active cases are now at 4,041 representing 32.76% of the total cases.

The distribution of the newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said that details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Fifty-one patients recovered from the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 7,886.

Death toll climbed to 409 after 5 patients succumbed to the viral illness.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
