DOH reports 80 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Department of Health Bicol has reported 80 new COVID-19 infections in the region, pushing the total cases to 12,101.

Active cases are now at 3,862, representing 31.91% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 2 (2.5%)

CAM SUR: 54 (67.5%)
25 – Naga City
12 – Pili
4 – Iriga
3 – Calabanga
3 – Goa
2 – Baao
1 – Canaman
1 – Magarao
1 – Ocampo

MASBATE: 2 (2.5%)
1 – Masbate City
1 – Milagros
SORSOGON: 22 (27.5%)
7 – Bulan
6 – Matnog
4 – Gubat
3 – Sorsogon City
1 – Magallanes

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, 99 patients have survived the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 7,835.

Death toll on the other hand rose to 404, after five patients died due to the disease.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
