DOH reports 188 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Department of Health Bicol has reported 188 new coronavirus disease cases in the region, pushing the total infections to 10,743.

Active cases as of May 23 are now 3,014, representing 28.06% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs. \

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

The DOH also reported 74 recoveries and one fatality.

Total recoveries are now 7,353, while the death toll rose to 376.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
