DOH reports 114 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Department of Health Center for Health Development-Bicol has logged 114 new coronavirus disease infections in the region.

This brought the total COVID-19 cases in Bicol to 10,205 as of May 20. Out of the total number 2,694 are active.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 31 (27.19%)
8 – Daraga
7 – Legazpi City
7 – Libon
5 – Ligao City
2 – Oas
1 – Camalig
1 – Polangui

CAM NORTE: 20 (17.54%)
11 – Daet
6 – Paracale
2 – Basud
1 – San Lorenzo Ruiz

CAM SUR: 51 (44.74%)
11 – Milaor
8 – Naga City
7 – Pili
4 – Canaman
4 – Magarao
3 – Buhi
3 – Calabanga
2 – Camaligan
2 – Lagonoy
2 – Minalabac
2 – Nabua
1 – Bula
1 – Caramoan
1 – Gainza

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act

The DOH logged 81 new recoveries. Total COVID-19 recoveries rose to 7,142.

Death toll on the other hand climbed to 369 aster 6 fatalities were logged. Four of them came from Albay and one each from Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
