91 new COVID-19 infections recorded in Bicol

The Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol has reported 91 new coronavirus disease infections in the region.

This latest figure brought the total COVID-19 cases in Bicol to 9,991 as of May 18. There are 2,650 active cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

Meanwhile, releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

The total number of recoveries climbed to 6,993 after the DOH logged 140 new recoveries.

Four new fatalities were logged, pushing the total death toll to 348. Three of them came from Sorsogon while the other one came from Masbate.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
