93 new COVID-19 infections recorded in Bicol

The Department of Health Development-Bicol reported 93 new COVID-19 infections pushing the region’s total to 9,729.

Active coronavirus disease cases are now at 2,828 as of May 15, representing 29.03% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act

Meanwhile, 148 individuals have survived from the disease, bringing the total recoveries to 6,561.

Death toll rose to 337 after three fatalities were logged. Two of the deaths came from Sorsogon while the other one came from Albay.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
