179 new COVID-19 cases reported in Bicol

The total COVID-19 cases in the Bicol Region have risen to 9,535 after the Health department reported 179 new cases.

Active cases are now at 2,937 as of May 13, representing 30.80% of the total cases.

The distribution of the newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Total recoveries are now at 6,264 while the death toll climbed to 334 after 7 patients succumbed to the dreaded virus.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action,” said the DOH.

“Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” it added.
