Total coronavirus cases in Bicol rise to 9,357

The coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region have risen to 9,357 after the Health department logged 107 new cases.

Active cases as of May 13 stood at 2,866 representing 30.63% of the total cases.

The distribution of new cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It also explained that releasing personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, 30 patients have survived from the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 6,164.

Death toll, on the other hand, rose to 327 after four patients succumbed to COVID-19. Two of the deaths came from Albay, while the other two cam from Sorsogon.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
