Palawan SP wants to ensure there would be no backdoor entries amid threats of Indian COVID-19 variant
The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan is pushing for the strict enforcement of prohibition on the backdoor entries in the province due to the threat of Indian COVID-19 variant.
The Palawang SP passed the Proposed Resolution No. 153-21, entitled: “Requesting the Provincial Government thru Gov. Jose Ch. Alvarez, Philippine Coast Guard and Bantay-Dagat- Palawan, and other concerned to strictly impose prohibition to backdoor entries especially in Balabac and Bataraza from Malaysia due to the threat of the Indian variant of COVID19”
The said resolution was authored by BM Sharon Abiog-Onda.
BM Onda said that the resolution aims to ensure that there would no be unauthorized entry in Palawan particularly in Mangsee and Island Barangays in Balabac and Bataraza.
“We have heard that the variant of Indian corona virus is already in the countries of Malaysia and Singapore and we are threatened that if… ah, nandun na po sila, madali na lang makapasok dito sa lalawigan ng Palawan not only the Indian Virus, other viruses of corona virus” said BM Onda.
Onda noted that through the Philippine Coast Guard, Bantay Dagat- Palawan and other concerned authorities, unauthorized entries will be prevented.
