121 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

Another 121 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Bicol, pushing the region’s total to 8,915.

Active cases as of May 8 are now at 2,608 representing 29.25%.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Nineteen patients survived the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 5,993.

Three deaths, all came from Camarines Sur, were also reported. Total death toll rose to 311.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action,” said the DOH.

“Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” it added.
