The cumulative coronavirus cases in Bicol Region have risen to 8,794 after the DOH Bicol reported 81 new cases.

Active cases are now at 2,509 as of May 7 representing 28.53%.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, 137 patients recovered from the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 5,974.

Death toll remains at 311 as of May 7.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action,” the DOH said.

“Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” it added.
