99 new COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths logged in Bicol

The coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region have reached 8,470 after the DOH in the region logged 99 new cases.

There are currently 2,295 cases as of May 4 representing 28.23% of the total number of cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 30 (30.30%)

CAM SUR: 56 (56.57%)

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, 20 new recoveries were reported, pushing the total number of recoveries to 5,770.

Death toll rose to 299 after 10 fatalities were reported. Six of them came from Masbate and two each from Sorsogon and Camarines Norte.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH reminded.
