Total COVID-19 cases in Bicol rise to 8,371

The coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region have climbed to 8,371 after the DOH Bicol reported 95 new cases.

Active cases are now at 2,322 as of May 3, representing 27.74% of the total cases.

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, 93 patients recovered from the disease. Total number of recoveries climbed to 5,750.

Meanwhile, death toll rose to 288 after 11 fatalities were recorded.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action,” the DOH said.

“Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” it added.
