Active COVID-19 cases in Bicol now at 2,009

Active COVID-19 cases in Bicol Region have climbed to over 2,000 after the Department of Health Bicol reported 166 new cases.

Active cases are now at 2,009, while the total cumulative cases as of April 29 rose to 7,899.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Meanwhile, the DOH reported 51 patients who survived the illness, pushing the total number of recovery to 5,607.

Two more fatalities were logged, bringing the total death toll to 281.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the department said.
