COVID-19 cases in Bicol rise to 7,734

The cumulative COVID-19 cases in Bicol have risen to 7,734 after the Health department in the region logged 118 new cases.

Active cases as of April 28 are now 1,897, representing 24.53% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said that details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

The DOH logged 47 new recoveries. Total number of patients who survived the disease rose to 5,556.

Meanwhile, death toll climbed to 279 after 2 fatalities, one from Sorsogon and the other from Camarines Norte, were reported.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
