99 new COVID-19 cases logged in Bicol Region

The cumulative coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region have risen to 7,617 after the Department of Health Region V reported 99 new cases.

Active cases as of April 27 are now 1,829 representing 24.01% of the total COVID-19 cases in Bicol.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, the DOH logged 86 new recoveries, pushing the total number of recoveries to 5,509.

On the other hand, four new deaths were reported, all of them came from Sorsogon. Total death toll rose to 279.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action,” the DOH said.

“Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” it added.
