Total COVID-19 cases in Bicol rise to 7,518

The total coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region have risen to 7,518 after the Department of Health Bicol reported 66 new cases.

Active cases are now 1,820, representing 24.21% of the total cases as of April 26.

The distribution of the newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries climbed to 5,423 while death toll rose to 274 after a patient from Masbate succumbed to the viral illness.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action,” the DOH said.

“Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” it added.
