Seniors at least 75 years old in Oriental Mindoro now entitled to financial incentive
Senior citizens in Oriental Mindoro at least 75 years old will be entitled to receive financial incentives from the provincial government.
This came after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan amended the age and amount of financial incentive to be received by the seniors.
“Ang BAGONG ORDINANSA (Provincial Ordinance No. 122-2021), na ipinasa sa lebel ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan, ay “NAG-AAMYENDA” lamang sa (1) EDAD at (2) HALAGA NG FINANCIAL INCENTIVE na matatanggap ng mga QUALIFIED SENIOR CITIZEN sa ilalim ng NAUNANG ORDINANSA (Provincial Ordinance No. 68-2017) na sinimulang ipatupad ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan noong taong 2019,” said the office of the Vice Governor Jojo Perez said.
Before the amendments, seniors at least 85 years old are entitled to receive financial incentives.
“Ngayon, ang insentibo ay matatanggap pagsapit ng edad 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100. At pagsapit ng edad 101, ito ay matatanggap kada taon,” the Vice Governor’s office said..
“Sa BAGONG ORDINANSA, mas pinataas rin ang halaga ng insentibong matatanggap kumpara sa NAUNANG ORDINANSA,” it added.
Meanwhile, no additional requirements are required under the new ordinance.
Qualified senior citizens are those born in Oriental Mindoro or not born in Oriental Mindoro but have stayed in the province for an accumulated period of at least 10 years
For other requirements, they must be registered at the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) of his/her respective local government unit for proper identification and documentation;
