75 new COVID-19 cases reported in Bicol

The coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region have risen to 6,786 after the Department of Health Development-Bicol logged 75 new cases.

Active cases as of April 20 are at 1,375 representing 20.26% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 8 (10.67%)
4 – Legazpi City
2 – Tabaco City
2 – Daraga (Locsin)

CAM SUR: 38 (50.67%)
11 – Naga City
5 – Canaman
1 – Iriga City
1 – Pamplona
3 – Magarao
2 – Bula
1 – Pili (Capital)
1 – Gainza
5 – Camaligan
4 – Calabanga
1 – Buhi
3 – Caramoan

SORSOGON: 26 (34.67%)
11 – Sorsogon City
2 – Casiguran
2 – Gubat
3 – Matnog
1 – Pilar
4 – Castilla
1 – Prieto Diaz
2 – Irosin

OTHERS: 3 (4%)

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, 38 individuals have been tagged as recovered. Total number of recoveries is now 5,148.

One patient died due to the virus. Total death toll in Bicol climbed to 263.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH reminded.
