LEGAZPI CITY – Due to the improving weather condition as Typhoon Bising moves farther from Bicol Region, Mayor Noel Rosal ordered on Monday afternoon the decampment of residents who took shelter in various evacuation centers here as a preemptive measure.

Rosal also said operations of all government and private offices, as well as that of the malls and other business establishments, will resume on Tuesday.

“Employees who cannot report for work due to the effects of the typhoon should not be penalized or deducted with pay,” he, however, stressed.

Likewise, Rosal said barangay officials must see to it that schools used as evacuation centers would be left clean and cleared of all sorts of waste.

“All evacuation sites shall be disinfected by their respective barangay disaster risk reduction management committee,” he added.

Meanwhile, the “no sailing” policy is still enforced in the city as rough sea is still observed over the eastern seaboard of Luzon.

“The Legazpi City emergency operation center shall be deactivated for Typhoon Bising once all barangays have safely and completed decamped. However, the EOC shall continue its function to coordinate and facilitate all Covid-19 responses,” the advisory issued by Rosal added. (PNA)
