Gov Bichara orders safety measures as ‘Bising’ brings heavy rains in Bicol


Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara has ordered local government units in the province to prepare for typhoon Bising as it brings rains over Bicol

In severe Weather Bulletin # 7 issued by PAGASA at 4:00 AM today, “Bising” is expected to bring moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Bicol Region today and tomorrow.

Thus, the PDRRMC, headed by the governor, ordered the following to ensure public safety:

1. Overnight evacuation of residents living in the following areas:
a) Along the coastal areas of the eastern seaboard;
b) Those in the floodplains and near the river channels;
c) Along the steep slopes and mountainous areas;
d) Residents along Mayon Volcano, Mt. Masaraga and Mt. Malinao gullies and tributaries.

Bichara also ordered strict observance of the COVID 19 Minimum Public Health Protocols which include physical distancing, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, wearing of facemask among others when evacuated.

All City/Municipal DRRMCs were ordered to implement this order starting 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM today.
