Gov. Bichara orders LGUs to implement stricter, appropriate health protocols
Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara has ordered local government units in the province to implement stricter and appropriate health protocols amid rising COVID-19 cases in Bicol.
Bichara issued an executive order mandating LGUs to “impose a more strict quarantine protocols and more focused interventions.”
In his order, all local chief executives will have the authority to declare a granular lockdown in sitio, purok or barangays, deemed to have the most number of active COVID-19 cases, within their respective territorial jurisdiction.
“The Local Chief Executive shall make a written request to the Governor should the former intends to change the COVID-19 situation and risk classification and/or status of the community quarantine existing within their jurisdiction,” the order read.
All LGUs are likewise enjoined to implement appropriate preventive health protocols, curfew hours and other measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 within their respective territorial jurisdiction pursuant to Annex “A” of the DOH Memorandum dated April 12.
“Should any part of this executive order be declared unconstitutional or invalid by proper authority, other provision herein which are not affected shall continue to be in full force and effect,” it read.
The order took effect immediately upon signing or On April 15.
