78 new coronavirus disease cases logged in Bicol

The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development reported 78 new COVID-19 cases as the region was placed under “moderate risk” category due to the rapid increase of cases recently.

The total cumulative cases in Bicol are now 6,135. Active cases in the region are now at 918, representing 14.96% of the total cases.

The distribution of new cases is as follows:

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, 66 patients have recovered from the disease. Total recoveries now are 4,966.

Meanwhile three deaths were reported in the region. Two of them came from Sorsogon, while the other one came from Camarines Norte. Total death toll is now 251.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
