83 new COVID-19 cases reported in Bicol Region

The Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol has reported 83 new coronavirus disease cases in the region.

The latest figure pushed the total cases in Bicol to 5,937 as of April 10. Active cases are now at 824 representing 13.88% of the total cases.

The distribution of the new reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said that details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It explained that releasing personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries stood at 4,874 while death toll rose to 238 after a patient from Masbate succumbed to the disease.

The department noted that the fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action.

“Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
