47 new COVID-19 cases logged in Bicol Region

The Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol reported 47 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the region’s total to 5,610.

As of April 5, there are 638 active cases representing 11.375 of the total cases.

The distribution of the new cases is as follows:
ALBAY: 2 (4.26%)
1 – Daraga
1 – Guinobatan

CAM SUR: 29 (61.70%)
15 – Naga City
4 – Canaman
1 – Libmanan
1 – Goa
1 – Milaor
3 – Pili
1 – Camaligan
1 – Nabua
1 – San Jose
1 – Bula

SORSOGON: 16 (34.04%)
2 – Casiguran
11 – Sorsogon City
2 – Bulan
1 – Prieto Diaz

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, there are 27 new recoveries, bringing the total number of those who recovered to 4,738.

One patient in Albay died due to the disease. The total death toll is now at 234.

The DOH reiterated its call to Bicolanos to follow health protocols in order to prevent the further spread of the disease.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
