Bicol Region’s coronavirus cases climb to 5,560

The Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol has reported 62 new COVID-19 cases in the region.

This latest figure pushed the region’s total to 5,560 as of April 3. There are 621 active cases, representing 11.17% of the total cases.

The distribution of the newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 1 (1.61%)
1 – Legazpi City

CAM NORTE: 1 (1.61%)
1 – Basud

CAM SUR: 29 (46.77%)
10 – Naga City
6 – Calabanga
5 – Ragay
3 – Caramoan
2 – Pili
1 – Nabua
1 – Pamplona
1 – Pasacao

SORSOGON: 30 (48.39%)
24 – Sorsogon City
2 – Bulan
2 – Matnog
1 – Casiguran
1 – Donsol

OTHERS: 1 (1.61%)
1 – Makati

The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

There are 4,706 recoveries, while death toll rose to 232 after one patient in Sorsogon succumbed to the disease.

The DOH reiterated its call to Bicolanos to follow health protocols in order to prevent the further spread of the disease.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
