Walang excellent! Escudero on rising COVID-19 cases: Admit first that we face a big problem

Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero said that the first step in solving the problem is acknowledging that a problem actually exists.

Escudero issued a statement after the country continues to report record-breaking COVID-19 cases day by day.

“Faced with the same variants and lockdown fatigue, our neighbors in Southeast Asia must be doing something right that we are not,” he said.

“They are doing a far better and ‘excellent’ job than we are,” he said.

For the third straight day on Sunday, the Department of Health reported more than 9,000 new cases.

A total of 9,475 new cases of COVID-19 were logged today, pushing the total number of cases to 721, 892.

“The first step in solving a problem is admitting that we have one — a big one,” he said.

“We don’t have to re-invent the wheel. Let’s ask, watch, study, and learn from others so we can do a truly better job,” he added.
