Palawan stays as one: Gov. Alvarez concedes defeat to ‘no’ vote
Palawan Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez has conceded defeat to the no votes on the plebiscite dividing the province into three.
In a statement, Alvarez said that he accepts the results of the plebiscite held last Saturday on the Republic Act 11259.
Alvarez is now calling for unity among Palawenos now that the plebiscite has concluded.
“At bilang gobernador, makakaasa kayo na patuloy tayong maglilingkod at magsisikap para sa kabutihan ng mga mamamayan,” he said.
Meanwhile, Alvarez also thanked the Commission on Elections, Department of Education, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Interior department as well as the DOH for their assistance to the successful plebiscite.
