COMELEC prepares for Palawan’s plebiscite
The Commission on Elections in Palawan is now gearing up for the plebiscite regarding the initiative to split the province into three.
Commissioner Antonio Kho, Jr., Deputy Executive Director for Operations Director Teopisto Elnas Jr., National COMELEC Spokesperson Dir. James Jimenez, and Provincial Comelec Supervisor Atty. Urbano Arlando bared the details of the plebiscite on March 13.
Among the topics they discussed involved logistics, security status, mobilization, COMELEC coordination sa LGUs, and health protocols.
It’s all systems go for this plebiscite… Our people all over [the province of] Palawan are ready to conduct this plebiscite…”, said Commissioner Kho.
All election paraphernalia have already been sent except in Kalayaan while other far barangays are set to receive theirs tomorrow.
“All forms [including] accountable forms, official ballots, and supplies are already in place and ongoing ngayon ang verification as of the completeness of the official ballots doon sa ating mga Municipal Treasurer,” said Director Elnas.
“We are also providing Isolation facilities just incase mayroong 37.5 [body temperature] above, doon siya papuntahin”, added Elnas.
They also urged Palawenos to exercise their right to vote.
“Please convince [the voters] to participate in the plebiscite this Saturday… And please to our voters, pumunta nang maaga para maiwasan ang crowding sa precincts and i-check agad sa voters list ang names ninyo. Ito ay para magkapagdesisyon sila sa future nila…”, said Commissioner Kho.
